Time for an update on the Orc creature!

The 3D sketch is ready and we can now use this as the base to clean, sculpt, detail and texture the character in the coming weeks. In this post I'm going to cover some simple techniques to help you 'blockout' ideas easily, especially when the concept has lots of 'layers' (like overlapping metal plates or leather straps, etc).

Here is the ZBrush sketch with some quick materials in Maverick Render to test out the idea (you can download the ZTL at the end of this update).

This is not the final base... as I mentioned, it is the 3D sketch but it is polished enough to distinguish some of the pieces and materials on the creature.  This also helps to plan for the resources we might need to detail this guy...
