The weird anatomy

For this month's project, I want to create a small scene with some weird stuff in it... The concept might sound weird, but bear with me, I think it has a lot of room to try out a few cool workflows and develop some cool resources.

The idea is to make a very old study workshop for a 'creature surgeon' with a bunch of 18th-century tech and reference books. This is a very rough 3D blockout rendered with one of the 2D blue pencil sketch filters in ZBrush:

I did a quick mockup sketch and a 3D 'blob' which could be the focal point of the composition. This could end up being quite creepy and graphic... fare warning!
